The Pharmies Awards were back for their second year to celebrate the pharmacies, councils, health services and partners making a difference in blister pack recycling.

Congratulations to all our 2026 winners and finalists. This year’s recipients have shown what can be achieved through continous effort, strong community engagement and a shared commitment towards sustainability.

From pharmacies leading the way in collection volumes to individuals championing recycling across healthcare, each winner has made a valuable contribution to building a more sustainable future for healthcare in Australia.

🏆Outstanding Pharmacy of the Year

Winner: The Dalby & District Friendly Society Dispensary

As the only pharmacy serving the Dalby local community, this site has shown exceptional commitment to its customers and to the planet.

Finalists: Priceline Pharmacy Horsham, Carmen Drive Pharmacy

🏆Local Government Partner of the Year

Winner: City of Sydney

Combining strong recycling outcomes with consistent educational efforts, this council has demonstrated exceptional leadership in sustainability.

Finalists: Redlands City Council, Randwick City Council

🏆Healthcare Facility of the Year

Winner: Murrumbidgee Local Health District

By embracing blister pack recycling across its extensive regional network, this facility has set a benchmark for sustainability in healthcare.

Finalists: Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, Alpine Health Mount Beauty

🏆Community Champion of the Year

Winner: Kath Stone, South Metro Health Service

Through consistent advocacy, Kath has gone above and beyond to grow blister pack recycling accessibility across hospitals in Western Australia.

Finalists: Emma Charlton from Bottle Top Hill, Andrew Vance from Melbourne Girls College

Winner: Blooms the Chemist, Erina

Collecting an incredible 497,237 blister packs within the past year, this pharmacy has led the charge in combating landfill waste.
